However, if your AirPods are not getting settled inside the case properly, there could be debries, stopping your AirPods connection to the case. Remove the blockage and your AirPods will start charging again.

Clean Your AirPods

AirPods need cleaning and it should be done regularly. If your AirPods are dirty, the dirt inside the case could block the connection between the AirPod and the circuit.

Once you clean the case, reinsert the Pods inside the case and they will start charging.

Update AirPods Firmware

AirPods firmware gets updated automatically. But if you have not used your device since months, you might have missed the firmware update.

Now, move your iPhone or iPad close to your charging case, make sure your iOS device has the working internet connection. Leave your phone close to the device for around 15 minutes and the firmware will be updated automatically.

To fix this problem, try the below troubleshooting steps.

Check Your AirPods Case connection

If you believe that the AirPods case is not charging, try connecting the charging cable to your iPhone or iPad.

If the charging cable is working properly with your iPhone, it means that your cable is working properly and there is no issue with your charging cable.

You can even take the cable out and reseat it or try using different cable.

However, if you are using wireless charging, make sure you have the AirPods Pro or 2nd Gen AirPods. These are the only AirPods that supports wireless charging.

Charge your case to Full

If there is no problem with your cable, try charging your case to full. Plug your case to the charging outlet for 2-3 hours. If the LED shows green light, its completely charged.

Keep your charging case connected to the charger and bring your iPhone close to the case.

Open the lid. You will see the charging status of your AirPods and AirPods case on the screen. Make sure you see a lighting bolt symbol next to the AirPods case image.

Make sure to clean the AirPods case, especially the area where AirPods gets connected. You can use an earbud to clean the wells properly leaving no dirt inside.
