Auto cleaning chimney

A kitchen chimney is an electrical appliance that is installed just above the stove in the kitchen to absorb the smoke and oily pollution that occurs while cooking food in the kitchen.

Based on the functionality, there are three different types of Kitchen chimneys available in the market. They are wall-mounted, straight line, and auto clean chimney.

Types of kitchen Chimney

1)      Wall Mounted Chimney

These are the most used kitchen chimneys that you can come across in your daily life. Most people use this type of chimney in their kitchen. This is widely used because in most of the kitchens working platform is made adjacent to the wall.

This type of chimney can be of both types ductless as well as with duct. The chimney sucks the smoke from the kitchen and releases it back after purifying the same. You cannot make cabinets with the chimney alongside.

However, there is one more variant of it which is known as the island chimney. These chimneys are used for island kitchens, where the cooking area is away from the wall. These types of kitchens are in great demand these days and so do these chimneys are.

2)     Straight Line Chimney

The straight line chimneys are good for those kitchen which do not have much space. Since, wall mounted chimney cannot fit in small space, therefore, straight line is used.

This chimney has powerful suction feature and can suck all the smoke of your kitchen very easily. You can also use the space above the chimney and make some cabinets.

So, what else do you need? A powerful suction with minimalistic design and over head space, all you can have in your small kitchen with this chimney.

3)     Auto Clean Chimney

Who enjoys cleaning and who does have enough time to clean their appliances? I don’t think any one of us has so much time to clean our home appliances regularly.

But don’t worry, here comes a chimney with an auto-clean feature. Now you do not have to open and take out the filters or go through the boring process of cleaning anymore.

These chimneys come with a small water tank that needs to be filled with water. After a couple of days of working, you just have to press the Auto Clean button and the water inside the chimney cleans the oils and other greasy particles themselves. This would result in the increased working efficiency of the chimney.

Ducting or Ductless – Which one is best?

Ducting or ductless! It is always a point of discussion while buying a chimney. Let us go through all the differences and then point out which one is best?

  • The ductless chimneys are less expensive than the ducting chimneys, therefore, more affordable for middle-class families.
  • The ductless chimneys use the normal filters like the wired and the baffle whereas the ducting uses an extra protective measure and uses a carbon filter.
  • As far as performance is concerned, ducting is more efficient than those of the ductless types.
  • The ducting chimneys do not need so much maintenance whereas ductless filters need to be changed at regular intervals.
  • The more the amount of suction a chimney has the more it can make your kitchen smoke-free and in this ducting chimneys are the winner.
  • Ducting chimneys create a mess if you want to shift it from one place to another, whereas ductless is easy to shift from one place to another.

How to choose the best chimney size for your kitchen?

The size of the chimney is always directly proportional to the gas stove.

The chimney usually comes in two different sizes i.e, 60 cm and 90 cm wide. If you have a stove with two or less than two burners, then 60 cm is required for your kitchen. But in case you have a stove with 3 or more than 3 burners then you must go for a 90 cm chimney.

The distance between the chimney and the stove should also be within 26 inches to 30 inches. If you put your chimney closer than 26 inches, then there are chances that your chimney might catch fire.

On the other hand, if your chimney is farther than 30 inches then it could not be able to such the amount of smoke required to be sucked out from your kitchen.

Therefore, always choose and install wisely. You can have a look at some of the kitchen chimneys on Amazon.
